QUALIFICATIONS Mr. Brooman is a 25 year veteran of the commercial software industry. His forté is enterprise application architecture, and he excels at leading teams of engineers to create visionary software from scratch. His current specialty is Rich Internet Applications, or RIAs.

Prior to founding Brooman.com in 2000, Mr. Brooman progressed from Programmer to Manager to Vice-President for a multi-million-dollar international software company. Accomplishments include:
  • Created two revolutionary products-- ZoomClient™ and ZoomServer--to vastly simplify the process of creating Web Applications. ZoomClient is an RIA plug-in for Microsoft® Internet Explorer that enhances browser-based applications to have the richness and utility of traditional GUI applications. ZoomServer allows applications to be published as XML Web Services and is fully compatible with Microsoft .NET and Sun™ J2EE™. ZoomClient is currently being integrated into a major commercial software package scheduled to be delivered to major airlines, transit authorities, and military organizations.
  • Led a team of developers to successfully convert a major client-server application to n-tier Web-based technology using Progress WebSpeed. All features and functions were converted, including integration with Microsoft ActiveX and Office technologies. This application is now in production and is also being leased using the Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
  • Acted as chief architect and programmer for a major commercial software package. Successfully translated customer requirements into a practical software architecture and implemented using a leading edge development tools and methodologies. Created programming standards, quality assurance procedures, bug tracking, and release procedures. Hired, trained, supervised, evaluated, and mentored the developers. The software includes 12 integrated modules, 135 tables, and 2000 objects (forms, reports, searches, etc.).
  • Created a consulting team responsible for customizing software to meet line-of-business requirements. Developed policies and procedures, including a ballpark/proposal/ production/closure process, terms and conditions of work, standard proposal language, quality assurance procedures, warranty procedures, etc. Hired, trained, supervised, evaluated, and mentored the consultants. In 1998 this team had a billable ratio of 92% and a customer satisfaction score of 4.8 out of 5.0.
  • Assisted the sales department as the pre-sales technical expert for high profile accounts. Participated in demos, answered technical/vision questions, and designed custom solutions.
  • Assisted the marketing department by reviewing competitors, researching technology trends, suggesting new features and technologies to remain competitive, and surveying customers for feedback.
  • Participated in executive planning sessions to address changing market conditions and competitive pressures and create a vision for the future.
  • Wrote and presented key sessions at our annual Users Conferences.

  • Responsible for the vision, design, and implementation of the technology behind the next generation of USI's premier Ultramain® product-- Integrated Maintenance and Logistics Software for Aviation, Transit, and Facility Maintenance Organizations.
  • Directed a team of software engineers to research current enterprise application architectures to develop the next generation of Ultramain; selected Java EE 5 with EJB 3 / JPA 1.
  • Created a RIA client for Ultramain based on ZoomLogic technology using Java Swing and Java Web Start.
